9 killed as strong earthquake rattles Pakistan, Afghanistan

On Tuesday, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake shook Pakistan and Afghanistan, causing residents to flee their homes and offices in panic and even frightening people in remote villages.

The earthquake resulted in the deaths of at least nine individuals. Over 100 people were brought to hospitals in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province due to shock, with most being discharged later.

According to officials, roofs collapsed in various parts of northwestern Pakistan, killing nine people and injuring dozens, the Associated Press is reporting.
