Tom Marazzo | National Citizen's Inquiry into Covid-19

Transparency is a fundamental building block of true democracy and over the last three years we’ve had anything but transparency coming from all levels of government. From my perspective we’re in this situation today, as a nation, because we’ve abdicated our responsibilities to subordinate elected officials and designated the media, who are no longer impartial, as overseers.

We, as a society, have been censored and lied to by the media. We, as a society have been negligent in our oversight of those we have trusted and this attitude must be challenged if we expect to be the leaders of change.

Remember, citizens who do not monitor what their governments are doing, risk being taken advantage of by those in power. It is our duty to hold government accountable and to actively participate in the political process. Democracy relies on the active engagement of citizens in monitoring their government and holding it accountable through the power of Transparency. This is exactly what the National Citizens Inquiry will do.
