Dr. Ben begins by sharing his video series “Why I Believe”.  You can find that series at https://veritasmedical.com/video-playlist-page/?playlistid=2.  He goes on to explain why he chose to make healing the focus of today’s show.

4:12 – Dr. Ben welcomes Jim Baker to the show and asks him to share some of his story that brought him to where he is today.  Jim goes on to share part of his testimony that shattered what he thought he knew to be true.

15:57 – Dr. Ben asks Jim to share what brought him to fully believing it is always God’s will to heal.  He explains how seeing the person of Jesus perfectly exhibiting the Father and his will was ultimately what led him to this conclusion.

19:20 – Dr. Ben asks Jim what he would say to someone who believes it was God’s will to heal every time through Jesus only, and possibly the disciples, but not today.  Matthew 10:1-2, Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:9-20, Luke 24, John 14:12, John 20, John 10

23:32 – Jim shares a story where he was given the gift of faith.  He explains how faith is always keeping your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12).

29:42 – After the break, Dr. Ben asks Jim to speak about faith and doubt.

32:58 – Jim goes on to share some of the most common doubts.

Is it God’s will to heal?

Am I worthy?

Is it God’s timing?

41:14 – Dr. Ben asks Jim to speak to the true sovereignty of God.

42:48 – Dr. Ben interjects with the fact that we so easily follow the Great Commission in preaching the Gospel to the ends of the earth, but we have forsaken healing the sick, which is also commanded.

43:55 – Jim shares what exactly grace and faith are and whose part is whose.

44:32 – Jim speaks to Paul’s thorn in the flesh.

47:35 – Jim goes in to some of the history of religious doctrines, relating to specifically to salvation.  He moves from this in to the history of healing doctrine in the Church.

49:27 – Dr. Ben asks Jim to repeat something he had just mentioned – “We can’t lower the standard of God’s promises to our experience or inexperience.”  Jim expands on what he means by this and shares a testimony of something that happened early in his ministry.

51:12 – Dr. Ben and Jim continue discussing people’s reluctance to believe healing is always God’s will.

53:13 – Jim shares his “newness” in believing that healing is always God’s will.

54:42 – Dr. Ben asks Jim to speak to the “name it, claim it” movement.  Jim encourages the listeners to receive healing the same way they receive salvation.

57:10 – They close by sharing Psalm 103:2-3, Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24

The book Dr. Ben recommends was Bodily Healing and the Atonement by T.J. Crossan.  He finishes by thanking Jim for being on the show.
