Taking Sheep to Auction

It's time to say goodbye to some of our flock. About once a year we take a load of sheep (usually 5-10 sheep) to auction. We can't keep them all, so once a year we get together and choose which ones we will part with.
It's hard to say goodbye. We've seen these sheep and cared for them Every. Single.Day. Some of the sheep we had to part with were born on our farm.
But....this is part of farming. Like I said above, we can't keep them all.
Even though we are only contributing a tiny amount to the meat world, it does feel good to contribute. I'm so happy that our kids get to see the process from birth, caring for the animals, and taking them to market. We love farming and feel super blessed to have this farming experience.
