Russia's Ambassador to Australia clashed with an ABC presenter after she asked how he could represent a "repressive" and "dictatorial" state, before the two then traded accusations of propaganda over the war in Ukraine.

Presenter: If you are just going to repeat the Russian propaganda tropes from the past I’ll ask you to move on.

Alexey Pavlovsky: Sarah, I am listening to you repeating Western propaganda and it’s OK?
