Pakistan's Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has rejected IMF demands to abandon the country's long-range nuclear missile programme, stating that "nobody has any right to tell Pakistan what range of missiles it can have."
Speaking at a Senate session, Dar emphasised the importance of Pakistan having its own nuclear deterrence. His comments follow rumours that a Western country had been calling for the abandonment of Pakistan's long-range missile programme.
The Prime Minister's Office also issued a statement affirming the safety and security of Pakistan's nuclear and missile programme.
