Find a realistic-looking toy monkey or stuffed animal and attach it to a fishing line. Then, go to a public place where there are people walking by, such as a park or a sidewalk.

Hold the fishing line so that the monkey is a few feet off the ground, and hide behind a nearby bush or tree. When someone walks by, slowly start to lower the monkey towards them, making it look like the monkey is walking towards them on its own.

As the person gets closer, you can start to move the monkey more erratically, making it look like it's jumping around or trying to grab them. The person will likely be surprised and maybe a little freaked out by the monkey's unexpected movements.
