How States Can Use Article V to Address Federal Dysfunction: VIDEO 2 - Professor Rob Natelson
In part two of this video series produced in partnership with the Article V Information Center, a project of the Independence Institute, ALEC gives state lawmakers practical tools and insights into how a Convention of States can address the nation’s problems.
This video features ALEC Board of Scholars member and America’s leading expert on Article V Professor Rob Natelson.
“America’s Founders predicted that our country would someday face a crisis like we face now,” said Natelson. “They also predicted that if Congress were part of the problem, Congress would probably not act to fix it. So, they added a procedure to the Constitution to allow the state legislatures to bypass Congress and address the issue directly. These videos will answer frequently asked questions about the process of calling for a Convention for Proposing Amendments, commonly referred to as a Convention of the States.”
