WALKER TIME CAPSULE - Skateboarding Issue #3
Unseen Footage: 1987 Cocoa Beach, Florida USA.
Skater: JIM McCALL, Florida Skateboarding Hall Of Fame (Inducted 2002).

Jim McCall is known for being one of the 1st East Coast pro skateboarders (1976) as well as being a Top 5 world pro freestyler in both the 70s & 80s. He was also an aerial pioneer in skateboarding, but we'll save that part for a later Time Capsule video.

McCall's Pro Freestyle deck from Walker, as ridden in this video, was essentially designed by Walker teammate Rodney Mullen around 1979-1980, while Rodney was still amateur. McCall's skating was a major influence to a young Rodney, and conversely McCall learned plenty from Mullen in return. Jim trusted Rodney's ideas on board science and cut him loose to create Jim's shape.
