Fishing for Catfish and Bass on the Troll at Ascarate Lake, TX- Spoonplugging!

I went fishing with my friend Paul to teach him how to run the Spoonplug just above the weedy bottom of Ascarate Lake. It took him a little time to learn the feel of a properly running lure. If the lure is too deep it plows into the weeds and snags. If the lure runs too shallow it does not produce fish. We caught 8 fish that afternoon and yes, catfish can be caught on crankbaits.
