United or divided, we stand: Russian Defence Ministry tells about Aleksandr Maltsev's act of heroism

▫️ On 10 March 2023, having left the fire support group to cover the main offensive forces of the unit, (Western Military District) Sergeant Aleksandr Maltsev, a platoon deputy leader, decided to bypass the enemy from the rear and as a group of three men began to assault the stronghold.

▫️ During the battle, two members of the group were wounded. Despite the threat to their lives, Aleksandr, showing fortitude and courage, pulled his wounded comrades out from under fire, saving their lives.

▫️ After evacuating the wounded, Sergeant Aleksandr Maltsev continued to carry out his combat mission. Acting stealthily and decisively, despite superior enemy forces, the sergeant single-handedly attacked the stronghold.

💥 During a short battle, Sergeant Aleksandr Maltsev killed several AFU soldiers and took several prisoners, which make the rest of the enemy personnel flee.

▫️ The sergeant was able to complete the mission of seizing the enemy stronghold because of brave and determined efforts.

▫️ Having secured a platoon at this defensive line, Aleksandr provided fire support to the advancing detachment units, thus ensuring the successful completion of the combat task of capturing the enemy positions.

▫️ Under constant mortar and artillery fire for three days (from 10 to 13 March), the platoon under Sergeant Maltsev's leadership successfully repelled many counterattacks by stronger enemy forces and retained the crucial defensive line.

▫️ On 13 March, Sergeant Maltsev was wounded beyond recovery in defensive actions during one of the AFU mortar attacks.

▫️ Sergeant Aleksandr Maltsev showed courage and bravery. The sergeant inspired his comrades to act fearlessly and bravely during combat missions. #mod_russia_en
