Before Lil Tjay would release his highest-charting song ever, a feature with Pop Smoke titled: “Mood Swings”. Before Lil Tjay would take on YK Osiris in an impromptu boxing match and release footage of the fight on social media. Before Lil Tjay would have 191.1K followers on Twitter, 3.9 Million followers on Instagram almost 2 Million subscribers on YouTube at the time of this recording. In just over two years, Lil Tjay went from spending his days in a youth detention center to becoming one of the biggest rappers of 2020. After signing with Columbia Records in 2018 he quickly scored two platinum hits with “Leaked” and “Brothers”, but it was the double-platinum effort of “F.N.” plus the massive success of his feature with Polo G, “Pop Out”, that really put Tjay on the map. It should be pretty clear from his prolific output that Tjay has a ferocious drive, and that must have played a huge part in his being named to XXL’s Freshman Class of 2020 this year.
