Description: The author contrasts the imperfection of the discipline by earthly fathers with the perfection of the discipline of our Heavenly Father. God's discipline is aimed at producing holiness in our lives allowing us to share in His holiness. An exposition of Hebrews 12:9-10.
Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.
