Before Joe Biden Biden launched his campaign for U.S. president and is the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee. Before Joe Biden would be impersonated by Jim Carrey on SNL. Before Joe Biden would be presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama in 2017. His 2008 presidential campaign never gained momentum, but Democratic nominee Barack Obama selected him as his running mate, and Biden went on to serve two terms as the 47th vice president of the United States. Previous to all this well Joe Biden was actually a bit of a football stud and we found a ton of old clips. But his life story is also one filled with loss and grief having lost his first wife and a child in a car crash early on in his career. He also almost lost his own life and needed complicated brain surgery. It's a remarkable story one that actually has a few similarities to a man of myth, Forest Gump, I kid you not. I'll explain that in just a minute but if he does become President this will be over 20 years in the making with him having made a run for the biggest job in the land back in 1998 but that time, things didn't go so well.
