Rock Island M1911 GI 45 ACP - Tough to rack but fun to shoot!

The 4th in a series of videos that I shot (literally) on the same day a couple of weeks ago, I break in my Rock Island M1911 GI 45 ACP a little more with some Armscorp ammo. A friend of mine has a super nice Colt 45 that's over 50 years old, and I had so much fun shooting it last year that I had to buy a 45 for myself.

I'm obviously on a budget, so I did a lot of investigating to see what would be the best bang for the buck. After a good bit of Internet searching and YouTube watching, I found out Rock Island makes some pretty awesome guns for the money. Sportsman's Warehouse sent an email to me just in time for me to buy this one for $329 plus tax, so I thought it would be well worth the money. Here's a link for their webpage, and occasionally they'll put this one on sale:

Turns out that it really is worth the cash. Of course we'd all like to have Colts, Smith and Wessons, and other higher dollar guns, but sometimes you just want to play and you don't want to pay the higher cash. I added some good bone color rubberized grips that help grab the pistol a little easier, but with my big hands, this one is a great size for me.

I've only shot maybe 50 or 60 rounds out of this one so far because I don't have a chance to get out a lot with it, but even though it is extremely hard to rack, I'll eventually shoot it enough to get the springs loosened up. It's still pretty accurate in spite of my shooting. ;-)
