President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana Arrive in Munich

After traveling for approximately 13 hours, the Garuda Indonesia aircraft with flight code GIA-1 carrying President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo and their entourage arrived at Munich International Airport, Munich, Germany at around 18.40 Local Time, Sunday, 26 June 2022 .

Typical summer sunny weather of around 28 degrees Celsius greeted President Jokowi and his entourage arriving in Munich, the capital city of the state of Bavaria, Germany.

After the plane door opened, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana descended the plane's steps and were greeted by the Minister of European and International Affairs, Bavarian State Melanie Huml, Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno and his wife, and Indonesian Defense Attache Colonel Budi Wibowo and his wife.

Troops wearing traditional Bavarian clothing were also seen welcoming the arrival of President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana.

Next, the President and Mrs. Iriana and their entourage headed to the hotel where they spent the night by car. Upon arrival at the hotel, hundreds of Indonesian people were seen unfurling red and white flags shouting "Pak Jokowi... Pak Jokowi", already waiting for President Jokowi to arrive.

The President, who saw the enthusiasm of the people, immediately got out of the car and greeted the people.

While at the door of the hotel, he greeted Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi who had arrived earlier to prepare for the President's visit to Germany.

President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the G7 Summit at the Elmau Palace, Germany.

Accompanying President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana Jokowi during this visit were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
