Good News Bible
Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord live in union with him
Keep your roots deep in him, build your lives on him, and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught. And be filled with thanksgiving
See to it, then, that no one enslaves you by means of the worthless deceit of human wisdom, which comes from the teachings handed down by human beings and from the ruling spirits of the universe, and not from Christ.
For the full content of divine nature lives in Christ, in his humanity,
and you have been given full life in union with him. He is supreme over every spiritual ruler and authority.

King James Version
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord (He is not only our Redeemer He is also our Master and Judge), so walk ye in him (this is My Beloved Son; hear ye Him):
Rooted (as a tree in redemption Truth) and built up in him (in further Truth), and established in the faith (unto fruit-bearing trees/ branches having been planted in the soil of the Christ matt13:18-23;7:24,25), as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving (a gratefulness that is founded on Christ, in the being delivered out from under the law of sin and death, and from the kingdom of satan, and brought into the wonderous possibilities in the hope of glory under the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus, outside the hopes of Israel under the law of Moses, in this day of grace and mercy in the calling out of a New Nation in Christ…gratefulness being the foundation for spiritually growing in faithful fruitful service unto the reward).loving relationships are founded and maintained only in gratefulness).
Beware lest any man spoil you (from the inheritance of the Kingdom as did the Midianites the Nation of Israel) through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
For in him (the Son of Man) dwelleth (resides) all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (in a 6 foot Man).
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

For 2 thousand years Jesus Christ has been received by innumerable multitudes in the first step of faith, in that they happily received the Saviors redemption benefits in the circumcision of the foreskin of their heart, which is to say; in the regeneration of their spirit, with the gift of eternal life, along with the shedding abroad of the love/agape of God in their heart… and readily confess Him to be the LORD.
But few redeemed now in the Body of Christ actually know why or how to take the next critical steps of “what shall I do Lord (to now make you my Lord acts22:10) …?”
Paul has set forth in the first Chapter of Colossians the realities of Jesus as the Son of God, Creator of all things; seen and unseen, all earthly and heavenly beings, He being the first-born/having preeminence over every creature, the incarnate Son of Man, and Anointed Redeemer of man under the power of darkness, Reconciler of all things back into order, and the Head of His Body; the called out ones, He being the first born from among the dead that He might have preeminence in all things that were heretofore hidden mysteries, that of riches of glory in His inheritance to be shared with those “in Him” “..if ye continue in faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Since they/we have received Christ Jesus as Redeemer He is now to be the Lord personal.. revealed by His Apostle Paul as the condition for inheritance “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus (the Anointed Redeemer as a gift now receiving Him as) the Lord, so walk ye in him:…” for “…your reward…: col2:18 …LORD here means; Supreme Ruler…Commander-in-Chief/Supreme commanding authority of the hosts of heaven and earth and Head and Master of His Body.
So He is not only Savior/Redeemer but Master, King, and Judge of His Body. The Truth in the wisdom of God (to be grasped) in making Jesus Lord by walking obediently unto worthiness according to His Written Word (compare Matthew 7:21 and Luke 6:46-49).

In the history of Christendom, although millions are continuing to be redeemed in Christ so mercifully in this dispensation of Grace and Mercy, yet never has Jesus the Christ been so spurned from being made Lord as today by the redeemed. In that today’s Christian has been effectively been “spoiled” from making Jesus Christ their Lord by many modern day plausible liars, although their doctrines may differ, these are like those whom Paul warned against then, who teach false “philosophy, and vain deceit after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not according to Christ.”
In that they have been taught and so teach……
