The Waco Siege was the siege of the branch of David ranch by the FBI, the National Guard and the ATF, which lasted from February 28 to April 19, 1993. The conflict arose when the inhabitants of "Mount Carmel" were suspected of violating gun laws. During the raid on the ranch, a shootout ensued, in which 10 people died. The FBI initiated a siege that lasted 51 days and ended with an assault using armored vehicles and helicopters. During the events, 82 members of the sect died, including more than 20 children, as well as 4 ATF agents.
