Moody's has changed its outlook on
the US banking system from stable to negative,
which could impact credit ratings
and borrowing costs for the entire sector.
The Federal Reserve has established a facility
to ensure that institutions hit with liquidity
problems would have access to cash,
but this creates a massive problem
for the Federal Reserve as it is simultaneously
injecting huge amounts of money into the economy.
Credit Suisse has reported material weaknesses
in its financial reporting and its stock has fallen about 4%.
