The host of the Bachelor has stepped down after a scathing interview with Extra’s Rachel Lindsay, where he defended current contestant Rachael Kirkconnell’s 2018 photo of a Southern Antebellum-themed party she attended. Basically slavery cosplay for white people. You remember the good ol days right!?

Enslaved African people made up a large portion of the southern population during the time of Southern Antebellum parties.
An Antebellum party, which is now known as an "Old South" party, is a widely known event in college associated with the fraternity Kappa Alpha. Kappa Alpha has been criticized as "racist” due to its embrace of Confederate General Robert E. Lee as its “spiritual leader”.
You remember Robert E Lee right? They only had to take his statue down last year. No big deal.

The same celebration has previously been held on plantations, have used Confederate flags for decoration with guests dressing up in antebellum-style clothing.

Chris Harrison seemed to be completely unaware of all of this during his Extra interview, where he downplayed not only Rachel Kirkconnell’s photo but also historic racism as a whole. He’s since stepped down from the show, issuing an apology via social media, with no explanation from the network.
