*Every* Black Life Matters. Full stop. (ft. Kevin McGary)

Kevin McGary grew up in the San Diego projects. He has had no shortage of run ins with the law. And with pastors urging him to support Black Lives Matter — pastors, mind you, who have earned his respect over more than a decade — in some ways it seemed like a no brainer to embrace the BLM movement. Except McGary’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ called him in the opposite direction — and an unpopular one. The slogan of BLM isn’t necessarily a bad one, but to McGary its anti-Christian, anti-Life, Marxist roots are downright rotten to core.

In this exclusive interview, Elaine Beck finds out why he decided to stand up when so many others gave their allegiance to BLM.

McGary co-founded Every Black Life Matters in response to BLM: whereas BLM sees salvation through a political, revolutionary lens, McGary knows that the real crisis in the black community stems in part from the lack of fatherly support for young black men. What the black community needs is encouragement to build one another up, and not yet another excuse to burn neighborhoods down. It does not need another Planned Parenthood in a black or brown neighborhood (Patrisse Cullors and other cofounders of BLM support abortion), but the encouragement to choose life from the very start — and the courage to defend it all the way to natural death. From womb to tomb.

As McGary said and Elaine Beck affirmed: “There is only one race: the human race. And every person is valuable.”
