This is Part One of my conversation with legendary comics artist, cultural warrior, and raconteur Ethan Van Sciver.
Ethan describes how leftwing activists targeted him for cancelation and turned him into a central figure of "Comicsgate".

Ethan spent over twenty years working for Marvel and DC Comics, drawing legendary characters like Green Lantern, Flash, Superman, Batman, and the X-Men.

He also illustrated Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules For Life.

For the bulk of those years, he was a popular artist at DC Comics, happy to just mind his own business and spend his days drawing. But when activists decided to target the left-leaning comics industry his status as a Donald Trump-supporting Republican made him a prime target for “cancelation”.
