The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Eduard Heger, has declared that his nation will provide Ukraine with 13 decommissioned Mikoyan MiG-29 fighter jets, in a show of support for the country’s efforts to resist the Russian invasion.

“Promises must be kept,” Heger said in a tweet on Friday, adding that Slovakia’s military aid was designed to help Ukraine defend itself and “entire Europe against Russia,” the Military Times reported.

Just a day after the announcement by the Polish President Andrzej Duda that his country would be providing Ukraine with the first batch of four MiG-29 jets in the upcoming days, and more planes to be transported in the future, this latest action has been taken.
