3. The base of the trophy contains two layers of malachite, a semi-precious stone.

4. The trophy was designed by Italian artist Silvio Gazzaniga and made by Stabilimento Artistico Bertoni in Italy.

5. The trophy features the victorious team’s name and the year of their victory engraved in the base.

6. The trophy is awarded to the winning team at the end of the FIFA World Cup Final match.

7. It is held by the captain of the winning team during the trophy presentation.

8. The winning team also receives a replica of the trophy, which they can keep.

9. Although the trophy is always presented to the winning team, FIFA keeps the original trophy at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.

10. The current trophy is the fourth version of the World Cup trophy, succeeding the original Jules Rimet Trophy.
