This video shows top countries by accumulated length of rail lines, and total length worldwide. Kilometer and miles.

Data includes both electrified and non-electrified lines, urban and suburban mass transport systems, and also lines not used for passenger transport.

Most national data are latest updates from 2007 until present time.
