As part of an online campaign to get Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios to sell the Zack Snyder's Snyderverse to Netflix, a digital artist has placed the face of the Man of Steel director on the Man of Steel himself.

ComicStream shared the deepfake video on Twitter with the caption, "Today is the day we trend! Today we make our voices be heard! Today we show @wbd @DCComics and @netflix what we really want! Today we help RESTORE the SNYDERVERSE!!!" The deepfaked Snyder Superman also shares a message in an accurate replication of the director's voice. "Believe me when I say that I would love to continue our version of the story of the Justice League," he says. "Of Man of Steel 2, the Batfleck movie, and so many other great movies. We just need to convince Warner and DC Comics to let us continue the Snyderverse on Netflix, who, by the way, is very onboard, and they would love to help us out."

In January, fans launched a campaign to get WBD and DC Studios to sell the rights to the Snyderverse to Netflix. Snyder and his wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder signed a first look deal with Netflix in July 2022 following the release of Army of the Dead. Snyder's next collaboration with the streamer is the sci-fi epic Rebel Moon, due out on Dec. 22, 2023.

Gunn Responds to Snyderverse Movement
DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn recently responded to the ongoing Snyderverse campaign, calling #SellTheSnyderverseToNetflix the "wackiest hashtag ever." He also revealed that, despite previous rumors, neither Netflix nor Snyder have expressed interest in buying the rights to the Snyderverse, but he has had conversations with both parties. While Netflix is not interested in taking over the Snyderverse, Gunn confirmed that he has discussed "other stuff" with the streaming giant.

From his conversation with Snyder, Gunn said the director "seems to be happy doing what he's doing." The DC boss also said that Snyder shared his "support about my choices. He's a great guy." In November 2022, Snyder commented on the possibility of returning to the DC Universe in the future. "As far as I know, which is very little, I'm doing my thing and haven't had anyone give me a call or anything," he said. "I'm just wishing them all the best and hoping they make some cool movies."
James Gunn Assures Fans, The DC Universe Is Not The Gunnverse
Gunn's recent comments about The Flash also makes selling the Snyderverse an improbable proposition. According to the DC exec, Ezra Miller's upcoming standalone feature "resets many things, not all things," meaning that the new DCU will incorporate some elements from the Snyderverse. What those elements are is currently unknown, though Gunn and fellow DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran have expressed interest in carrying over certain cast members from the Snyderverse, such as Jason Momoa.

Fans of the Snyderverse can look forward to the remaining films from that continuity set to come out this year, such as Shazam! Fury of the Gods on March 17, The Flash on June 16 and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on Dec. 25.
