I installed a new 1/8 hp Bodine right angle AC motor on the tumbler. I used a Lovejoy coupler to connect the 1/2 inch tumbler shaft to the 5/8 inch gearbox output shaft. There's a rubber "spyder" in between the 2 halves of the coupler. It provides some cushion so the gears should not be harmed by the intermittent flopping of the parts and media in the container. It also allows for a small amount of misalignment. It looks like the motor works great but the ceramic media didn't handle the pounding to well. I'm going to try different media types and see what kind of results I can get.
