Naturevore: FLORIDA FORAGING Walk #23 (Feb. 19): CARNIVOROUS Pink Sundew, Japanese Plum, Horsetail!

Collin Gow, C.N.C. goes foraging in Florida with his son at a park with a large lake. Together they identify and discuss wild, edible and toxic plants, lichens, and fungi and their biological actions, health benefits, nutritional properties, and ethnomedicinal uses. Cool sightings include: Pink Sundew, Japanese Plum (Loquat), Horsetail, Coralberry, Greenbrier, Bullbrier, Grape leaves, a mystery Puffball and more! We see some animal tracks too (probably Opossum tracks). Subjects such as botany, mycology, morphology, phenology, phytochemistry, ethnopharmacology, folk medicine, traditional medicine, natural medicine, and Native American (American Indian) medicine come up while on the hike.
