1. Is God evil?

The question of a good, all powerful all knowing God who allows evil is an old one. It is a question that keeps coming up. It is a question that is not so difficult to answer but suffering and pain remain difficult to endure. Because of the emotional entanglement it can be hard to view the issue rationally without being confused by the powerful emotions involved.
I will attempt to make some sense of the issue and the assumptions behind it.
