The Louisville Metro Police Department released body cam footage almost two weeks after they an officer allegedly shot two unarmed teenagers.

The incident reportedly took place in Louisville, in the US state of Kentucky, where multiple teenagers were inside an allegedly stolen vehicle in a garage on 20th February.

The video shows officer Brendan Kaiser outside the garage, as one of the teens raises the door.

Kaiser shuts it back and calls for backup. As the garage door opens again, Kaiser approaches the teenagers inside.

However, as they begin to run away, his gun goes off.

Police say two teenagers were hit by a single bullet that was discharged as they were trying to escape.

About an hour after the incident, both injured teenagers arrived at different hospitals located in Louisville with non-life-threatening wounds.

The incident has sparked concerns about the use of force by law enforcement, particularly in cases involving unarmed individuals.

The Louisville Metro Police Department has stated that the shooting is under investigation and that they will be reviewing their policies and procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, the families of the injured teenagers are calling for justice and accountability for the actions of the officer.

They have urged the department to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation and to ensure that officers are trained to de-escalate situations and use non-lethal methods whenever possible.
