Driver Who Led Police On Dangerous Chase Found Hiding In A Pond

A driver who led police on a dangerous pursuit has been jailed for 10 months after he was found hiding in a pond.

Orges Hoxha was driving a Toyota Yaris when he failed to stop for a police officer in Mansfield Woodhouse, UK, on 27th February.

The 24-year-old driver initially appeared to be stopping his vehicle, before quickly accelerating and driving off erratically.

He then drove at speeds of over 80 mph in 30 mph and 50 mph zones, overtook other cars, and drove on the wrong side of the road.

Hoxha then drove onto The Carrs field in Warsop, nearly crashing into trees before abandoning his car and running away.

But he was unable to escape police, who used a police dog to find him hiding in a nearby pond.

At a hearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 1st March, Hoxha admitted to dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance, and driving without a license.

In addition to his jail term, he was also disqualified from driving for two years.
