The more positive thoughts and behaviors you practice, the more confident and self-assured you will feel. Here are ten things you can do every day to feel more positive and confident. 1. Make a decisionDon't consult a friend about what to order for dinner or call your spouse while grocery shopping. Make a choice based on what your gut tells you. It will strengthen you and allow you to practice trusting your inner voice. 2. Try something newConfidence is achieved through hard work, not through perfection. 3. Gently exerciseExercise is the most effective non-pharmacological treatment for anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Simply moving your body will help to break up negative thoughts and increase serotonin levels. Move your body on a daily basis, but be mindful of your energy levels and avoid overdoing it. A seven-minute workout or some yoga in your living room will suffice. 4. Clean up your news feedSocial media can put you in a bad mood because it is full of triggers, images, and updates. Begin following accounts that are inspirational or "happy." You will feel better if you look at more positive images. 5. Write down nice things Consider the last week and write down everything nice that others said to you. When you're feeling insecure, go back over the compliments or comments. 6. Make a happy playlistMusic has the ability to alter your brain and body's physiology. It can cause you to breathe faster, raise your pulse, and smile. Songs with a fast tempo and upbeat lyrics have been shown to be more effective at eliciting positive emotions. 7. Say noDon't say yes when you want to say no. If you do favors you don't want to do, you're letting yourself down. When someone asks you for something that makes you feel weird and you want to say "yes," remind yourself that they are asking, not ordering. You will respect yourself more in the long term. 8. Practice postureAccording to Ohio State University research, hunching over at your desk can make you feel less confident and insecure. When sitting or standing, pull your belly button in towards your spine and your shoulders back. 9. Give yourself credit for daily accomplishmentsDid you clean out your closet but still have piles of clothes to fold? Take a moment to reflect on what you've accomplished rather than simply waiting for a project to be completed. 10. Get gratefulPeople who are aware of the positive aspects of their lives generate more positive energy. Comment on a post you like, send an email to a friend or write down what you are grateful for right now.
