My train show treasure. Not running Athearn FM Trainmaster.

The light lit, no drive. The motor mounts shrunk over time. The motor was loose and not making contact with the frame. The video of shell off to showing the lose motor did not focus for some reason focus, sorry.

Disassemble the trucks. Cleaned the parts in an ultrasonic cleaner. Mean Green seems to do a good job of cleaning and de-greasing. Dressed the motor brushes. A small dot of air tool oil on the motor bushings. A bit of high temp grease on the gears.

Removed the friction clip connections. Soldered direct from the trucks to the motor.

Good news. The motor mounts are not brittle. Applied a bit of Amazing Good to hold the motor in place.

Starting voltage to begin with 4.3 volts. Starting voltage after working on it 3.1 volts.

Nice additional power on the ready line for a couple of hours of work.
