The Taurid meteor shower is a long-lasting meteor shower that occurs annually in late October and early November. The shower is caused by debris from Comet Encke (The Southern Taurids), and asteroid "2004 TG" (The Northern Taurids) and typically produces only a few meteors per hour. However, the Taurids have been known to produce "fireballs" or exceptionally bright meteors.
