What is the MARKER?! | Dead Space Remake part 4

I have a lot of lingering questions for Dead Space(2023) and one of the main ones is who the crap is the Marker?? Apparently it's what made everyone go insane and caused them all to get all paranoid. Then the human scorpion things probably showed up because of the Marker too. Is the Marker behind everything?!
