Responding to YouTube comments: insurance is theft.

What you call protecting us from each other’s carelessness is in reality punishing the innocent for the actions of the few. You may not reach into my pocket without my consent out of fear of what I may be responsible for doing. Once I’ve committed an action that makes me responsible for damages by all means hold me accountable. Until then I will not be punished for the actions of others. If the incident was truly an accident how can there be a victim? I will absolutely demand that one pays for the damages they are responsible for, and I will pay for any I am responsible for willingly. To reiterate being compelled by men with guns to allow insurance to reach into our pocket without our consent is theft, you may not steal from innocent people.

Further more if one is incapable of paying for damages they are responsible for committing perhaps a better question would be “why can’t they pay?” “What help do they need to become capable of paying for such things in the future?” As opposed to “How to punish a man when he is only guilty of poverty?”.
