BEFORE captivating an entire generation of male-teenagers as Rachel McGuire on “Boys Meet World”, actress Maitland Ward was searching for a place to belong and hoped she’d find it in the world of entertainment. Now, more than two decades AFTER booking her breakthrough role, she might have found it in the very last place many of us would have thought to look. For those who don’t know her, Maitland Ward is a star with fiery red-hair and piercing blue eyes who landed her first big acting role at the age of 16-years-old on the long-running soap opera, “The Bold and the Beautiful”. For the next two years, Maitland would wade her way through treacherous soap-opera storylines on her way towards being cast as Rachel McGuire, a college student from Texas who’s constantly dodging the romantic advances of teenaged dudes, on “Boy Meets World”. Fans of that series followed the main cast of characters including Cory, Shawn, and Topanga from elementary school all the way to their college careers. Maitland would then join the cast at the beginning of the Sixth Season in 1998, playing Rachel, the love interest to Shawn’s brother Jack.
