Ruins of Grandval Castle 🇫🇷

The oldest traces of the existence of this castle date back to 1478. The chateau, which until the 2nd World War was a magnificent, carefully furnished residence, served as a refuge for the FFI (French troops of the interior) during the war.
It was then set on fire by the Germans during an operation against the Maquis. All interior decoration and roofs were destroyed. The abandoned castle was then woefully sacked and then consumed by the construction of the Razisse Dam. Today the castle has more or less obvious ruins depending on the season.
