OSIRIS-REx captures sample by slinging orbital web around asteroid

"101955 Bennu, an asteroid as tall as a skyscraper, has been NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission's home since late 2018. The asteroid is one of Earth's closest planetary neighbors, and upon OSIRIS-REx's arrival on December 3, 2018, the spacecraft began conducting a series of complex observations.

After spending over two years studying Bennu, OSIRIS-REx is set to depart on May 10, 2021, with a collection of over 60 grams of asteroid sample.
