Exploring Antiques at a Busy Vintage Show: From Dental Tools to European Porcelain!

In this video, I'll take you through the first day of a show I'm participating in, where the weather is much better than the last couple of shows. You can see a line at the gate and people are starting to come out on this beautiful Friday morning. I'll show you my booth and some of the unique pieces I have.

I start by showing you a J Fischer reticulated ceramic piece that was made in the Zsolnay style. This piece is from Budapest, Hungary, and Fisher's name was actually Ignac, but they ciphered it with a J back then. I sold a Cornucopia of this for over $300, and other pieces are flying out of here.

Next, I show you a number 15 crock, which is a very big piece that people can use to put glass on top or use it for umbrella storage. Someone already purchased it for that reason, and it's a wonderful piece to have. I also show you what appears to be a tap and die set, which is from a dental office and includes various size molars and dies from the 1920s or 30s. It's a rare find and very unusual to come across.

Moving on, I show you some delicate porcelains, including Dresden and Meissen. I also show you Coalport from England, which started around 1790 but this piece should date to about 1910. It has a wonderful patterning on it, and I also show you a Turquoise Crest Fenton piece.

In addition to furniture, I added some Viking Glass, including a wonderful purple Murano glass bowl that sold this morning right away. I also sold one of my two flamingos, but the remaining one is neat with the wings up and usually has a good mark like Maddox of California.

Part of the reason I like doing shows is that I have a chance to meet different customers and stretch my knowledge as well. I am excited to be selling European porcelain, which seems to be doing well. I also brought a bunch of Floridiana and related items, including lamps and a metal table from the 1970s.

To wrap things up, I review the costume jewelry I bought, including a damascene set that is neat because there are three pieces.
