Former NFL player Derek Wolfe had an eventful week, as he took to Instagram on January 20, 2023 to share that he had hunted down and killed a mountain lion in Colorado. According to his social media post, the large male lion had been causing chaos in a rural area, having already claimed the lives of two dogs and taking refuge under a woman's porch. In pursuit of the lion, Wolfe hiked up and down the mountain, covering a distance of 2,500 feet, then back up again, down, and finally up another 9,600 feet. Despite experiencing exhaustion, dehydration, and muscle cramps, he managed to shoot the animal with a bow and arrow. The former NFL player then had to carefully drag the lion backward down the mountain to his truck, even falling ten feet from a rock face on his way down.
