How to make a floating shelf | My Daughters new Bedside Shelf

After recently replacing my daughters bed and re-arranging her room. She now needs a bedside shelf. I wanted something that was up out of the way and thought that a floating shelf would work great. I used some locally sourced beetle kill Pine to make this shelf. This design uses a piece of the actual shelf to make the mounting bracket. I like this idea and decided to give it a try. It worked great and she likes the new shelf.
