A Brief History of: The Hyatt Regency Walkway Collapse (Short Documentary)
On July 17, 1981, two walkways collapsed at the Hyatt Regency Kansas City hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, United States, one directly above the other. They crashed onto a tea dance being held in the hotel's lobby, causing destruction beyond belief.
This was caused by a poor design choice leading to a walkway collapse. The event would become a vital lesson in design taught to architects the world over.
