After dozens of resignations from government members, including two of Boris Johnson's own conservative cabinet members, the prime minister resigned Thursday. He’s been facing intense pressure to resign all year after it was alleged he held closed-door parties during the height of COVID-19 lockdowns in the country.

Back on our home turf, the U.S. Labor Department released its latest jobs numbers, and it’s not looking good. I talked two weeks ago about how we’re already in a recession, which will lead to heavy job losses and therefore market losses. And that’s what’s been playing out for the last two weeks.

Let’s think outside the batter’s box here. We’ve go to read the signs coming from the dugout.
