On July 28, 1914, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia igniting World War I. It was the culmination of the so-called “July Crisis” spurred by the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie by Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian Serb, one month earlier.

Now, just a little over 100 years later, many wonder if we might witness a similar nightmare again - a World War III, perhaps, in which Russia, China, and others unite against the West.
Shockingly, it’s a distinct possibility, given Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the likelihood that China will make a similar move on Taiwan.

Furthermore, both countries have developed extremely lethal weapons that the United States can’t yet compete with. Of course, that’s something American policymakers are trying to change with a massive multi-billion investment into new cutting-edge missiles.
