Speed of light

One reason why nothing can travel faster than light is due to the increase in mass that occurs as an object approaches the speed of light. As an object approaches the speed of light, its mass increases, and it requires more and more energy to accelerate the object further. At the speed of light, an object with mass would require an infinite amount of energy to accelerate it further, making it impossible to exceed the speed of light.
