Mount Merapi in Indonesia showed signs of activity again on Tuesday morning, March 14th, 2023, with two pyroclastic flows occurring. This event was captured in a dramatic video released by the Indonesian government's Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Center (BPPTKG).

The video, which lasted more than one minute, showed volcanic ash rapidly descending down the mountain slope. The incidents occurred at 5:50 and 5:59 a.m. local time, with the ash flow reaching a distance of 2 kilometers in a southeast direction.

BPPTKG confirmed via its official Twitter account, @BPPTKG, that there were two pyroclastic flow occurrences on Tuesday. This indicates that the volcanic activity of Mount Merapi is increasing, and residents in the surrounding areas are urged to be vigilant.

Mount Merapi is a volcano located in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The increase in activity of Mount Merapi is a serious concern for authorities and residents in the surrounding areas, given the potential danger that can be caused by volcanic eruptions.
