There are a couple of times when blood sugar balance is critically crucial for a child's cognitive development in utero. It's the cognitive development of a child under the age of four, specifically in those 1st 1000 days.

As a mom who's been through multiple pregnancies, I have two young children. With the impact that it's having, I also looked into the research on pregnancy and how important we have so many women who now have gestational diabetes, which comes with preeclampsia and come with more considerable birth weight and a more challenging time delivering your child. It is detrimental to the development of your child. You're setting your child up.

If you have Dysregulated blood sugar during pregnancy, you have elevated blood sugar, and it does not have to be in the diabetes range.

I'm talking about fasting blood sugar in the high 90s when you're pregnant; it's having a metabolic impact on your child and future generations.

So when you are a pregnant mom with gestational diabetes or even like I said, that elevated fasting blood sugar and Dysregulated blood sugar throughout those 40 weeks, you are doubling the chances your child is going to have type two diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and obesity when they grow up.
