Planta & Raiz is a Brazilian reggae band formed in 1998 in the city of São Paulo. The band began its career performing at fairs, nightclubs and bars in the capital and the coast of São Paulo, playing covers of Bob Marley, Gilberto Gil and Edson Gomes. In 2001, at Via Funchal, they made an opening show for the band that consecrated Bob Marley, The Wailers to an audience of 7000 spectators in São Paulo.

In 2005, the group marked their place in the history of Brazilian reggae with the release of their first live CD and DVD, Planta & Raiz ao Vivo.
