Jurisdiction: To declare the law and administer justice. To “declare the law” is to declare the Word of God as the final
authority. We “administer justice” by walking with righteousness. One of the best words to describe how we function in
the Kingdom of God is Jurisdiction. The Bible is the Law of Heaven and Earth. The Constitution is the Law of the Land.
The Priests function through the Bible and the Kings through the Constitution, as God’s prophetic Word covers both.
The Prophecy of Kings, Priests, Prophets and the Anointing Oil
Isa 10:24-27 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: "O My people, who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian.
He shall strike you with a rod and lift up his staff against you, in the manner of Egypt. 25 For yet a very little while and
the indignation will cease, as will My anger in their destruction." 26 And the Lord of hosts will stir up a scourge for him
like the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb; as His rod was on the sea, so will He lift it up in the manner of Egypt.
27 It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck,
And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.
F/Notes SFLB: “Here God is encouraging the remnant of Israel not to fear the Assyrian, for in due time He will again
deliver His faithful as He did under Moses (v.24) and Gideon (v.26; see Judg 7:25). The anointing oil: Prophets, priests
and kings were initiated into office by the anointing with oil, symbolic of the inner working of the Holy Spirit. Since
God’s blessing comes upon His people when the kings, priests and prophets are faithful in their functions, Isaiah
prophesies of that day when woes would end, revival would come and these offices would properly function again.”
Kings are symbolic of God’s civil-governmental authority in the physical realm. Priests are symbolic of God’s religious
authority in the spiritual realm. Prophets are symbolic of the leading of the Holy Spirit. The anointing is symbolic of
God’s power. When the civil-government and the Church walk together being directed by the Prophetic, God’s anointing
will empower them to break every stronghold of the Babylonian Cabal, setting His people free.
This move of God will bring together the spiritual realm and the physical realm as His righteousness pours down from
Heaven, permeating the people, bringing forth salvation (Isa 45:8), thus, “making the crooked places straight” (Isa 45:2).
Preparing for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ our King and High Priest.
Governor Zerubbabel, the High Priest Joshua, the Prophet Zechariah and the Anointing
In 586 B.C. under the edict of King Cyrus, a group of Jews returned to their homeland to start rebuilding the temple. This
group was under the leadership of Zerubbabel (Governor) and Joshua (High Priest). They started well, but soon the
Samaritans hindered them. The prophet Zechariah encouraged them to resume their work and the Lord reassured them
they would complete it.
Here we see again, Zerubbabel civil authority, Joshua the religious authority being encouraged by the Prophet
Zechariah, and God calls Zerubbabel and Joshua “the two anointed ones” which literally means “sons of fresh oil.”
Zech 4:1-14 is called “The Vision of the Lampstand and Olive Trees”
“Now the angel who talked with me came back and wakened me, as a man who is wakened out of his sleep. 2 And he
said to me, "What do you see?"
So I said, "I am looking, and there is a lampstand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps
with seven pipes to the seven lamps. 3 Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left." 4
So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, "What are these, my lord?"
5 Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, "Do you not know what these are?"
And I said, "No, my lord."

6 So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My
Spirit, 'Says the Lord of hosts. 7 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he
shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"
The angel asked Zechariah if he knew what the two olives trees represented, “And I said "No, my lord."
14 So he said, "These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth."
“Two anointed ones” literally means “sons of fresh oil.”
“Zechariah 4:14; The earthly civil powers and the religious functionaries, when they fulfill their true ideal, are "the two
anointed ones that stand by the Lord of the whole earth" (Zech 4:14). His true ministers in church and state are the type
of Him who, filled with the infinite fullness of the Holy Spirit, shall hereafter visibly, as He now doth invisibly, combine
the Kingship and the Priesthood in His own person (Zech 6:13).” Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary.
Zech 6:13 Yes, He shall build the temple of the Lord. He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He
shall be a priest on His throne, And the counsel of peace shall be between them both."'
Jesus as King and Priest brings great peace. This is when the civil authority and the religious authority walk as one with
God’s righteousness. Jesus will build His temple (we are His temple) as He is both King and Priest and the counsel of the
king and priest will bring peace and protection.
The Prophet Haggai also Encouraged Zerubbabel, Joshua and the Remnant
Hag 1:12-15 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant
of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had
sent him; and the people feared the presence of the Lord. 13 Then Haggai, the Lord's messenger, spoke the Lord's
message to the people, saying, "I am with you, says the Lord." 14 So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son
of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the
remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,
Because the people obeyed the voice of the Lord and the prophet, He was able to “stir up” their heart.
Stir Up: Strong’s #5782; ur (oor), To rouse, awaken, excite, raise up; to incite, to arouse to action, to open one’s eyes.
Hag 2:20-23 And again the word of the Lord came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying, 21 "Speak to
Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying: 'I will shake heaven and earth. 22 I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; I will
destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms. I will overthrow the chariots And those who ride in them; The horses and
their riders shall come down, Every one by the sword of his brother.
23 'In that day,' says the Lord of hosts, 'I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,' says the Lord, 'and
will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,' says the Lord of hosts."
*Signet: A seal or ring used by an official much like a personal signature to give authority to a document.
The signet was an emblem of royal authority (Gen 41:42). Zerubbabel, who had been chosen by God to lead the
returned captives in Jerusalem (Hag 2:23), was compared to a signet ring, signifying that God had invested him with the
highest honor. *Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary
Rev 1:1-6 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants — things which must shortly take
place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the
testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this
prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
Greeting the Seven Churches
4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to
come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn
from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own
blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.
Amen. Dominion is God’s jurisdiction. Are you ready for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ?
